Description

To manage and oversee the Treasury Section by assuming overall responsibility for the Section’s functions and activities and ensuring they are performed according to the overall guidelines prescribed by the Department of Finance, and that adequate support is provided to the Department’s core functions. *Manage the reconciliation of the Department’s Treasury transactions with the Department of Finance; *Generate funds transaction between accounts and reconcile accounts and balances to ensure accuracy of transactions; *Accept, verify, reconcile and prepare receipts for Treasury deposits, business license fees and general collections payments made via direct, credit card and electronic fund transfer; *Prepare bank deposits for accounts operated by the Department and the related accounting forms and reconcile bank records balancing discrepancies and reports to ensure the accuracy of cash balances; *Produce and manage the preparation of a variety of treasury, statistical and other cash management related reports to management on a periodic basis, for assessment of treasury activities; *Manage the working capital and petty cash requirements to meet the Department’s daily petty expenses; *Participate in developing and administering the Section\‘s budget, as far as treasury activities are concerned, and monitor revenues and expenditures; *Review and analyze new and revised federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting the treasury operations to ensure the treasury activities are in compliance with these; *Coordinate with the Internal Audit Office and provide required documents for completion of the internal audit; *Provide input to the Finance & Asset Management Division Manager to enable negotiation and purchase of insurance contracts which the Department has entered into for treasury function; *Establish business relations with banks and other financial institutions that aid the daily operations of the Department; *Manage the working capital requirements, cash disbursement and petty cash accounts of the Department’s Divisions.
